QR Code Generator

Design
Keep the code darker than the background. Strong contrast scans fastest, especially on printed menus and posters.
PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, or drop a file here. The logo stays on your device. With a logo, error correction switches to H so up to 30% of the code can be covered.
Higher levels survive scratches, dirt and logos but add modules. If the code still has room, Vartula raises the level for free.

How to make a custom QR code
- Choose what the code opens (a website, Wi-Fi network, contact card, UPI payment and so on) and fill in the details.
- Pick a preset, or set the code shape (square or circle), module shape, eye shapes and colors yourself under Design.
- Add your logo under Logo; error correction switches to H automatically so the code still scans.
- Optionally add a frame with a label such as “Scan me”.
- Check the scan result under the preview, then download PNG, SVG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. For barcodes or a whole list of codes, use the Barcode and Batch tabs.
Custom QR codes that are checked to scan, plus barcodes
The QR Code Generator makes static QR codes for websites, Wi-Fi, contact cards, UPI payments, WhatsApp, email, SMS, calendar events and map locations. Style them with dot, rounded, fluid or bar-shaped modules, a square or round outline, custom eyes, solid or gradient colors, your logo in the middle and a “Scan me” frame, then download PNG, SVG, JPEG, WebP or a print-ready PDF.
Every design is test-scanned in your browser as you edit, so you know a fancy style still reads before you print it. The Barcode tab makes Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39 and ITF-14 barcodes with check digits worked out for you, and the Batch tab turns a CSV list into a ZIP of QR codes or barcodes. Codes are static: they never expire, need no account and send scans to nobody.
| Content | What it does |
|---|---|
| Website | Any web address; https:// is added if you leave it out. |
| Wi-Fi | Guests join your network by scanning, without typing the password (WPA, WEP or open, hidden networks too). |
| Contact | A vCard 3.0 or MeCard with name, company, phones, email, website and address, saved in one tap. |
| UPI payment | A upi://pay link with your UPI ID, name, optional amount and note; works with Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and BHIM. |
| WhatsApp, SMS, email, phone | Opens a chat, text or email with the message filled in, or dials a number. |
| Event and location | Adds an event to the calendar, or opens a map at a latitude and longitude. |
| Barcodes | Code 128, EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, Code 39 and ITF-14 with automatic check digits, as PNG, SVG, JPEG or PDF. |
| Batch | One QR code or barcode per row of a CSV, in your design, downloaded as a ZIP of PNG or SVG files. |
Do these QR codes expire?
No. They are static: the content is stored in the pattern itself, not behind a redirect. They work for as long as the printed code is readable, with no subscription, and nobody tracks who scans them. The flip side is that you can't change where a printed code points; to do that, encode a link to a page you control and update the page.
Will a styled QR code with a logo still scan?
Usually, yes. QR codes carry error correction that can rebuild up to 30% of the pattern at level H, which is why a logo can cover the middle. Vartula switches to level H when you add a logo, warns about low contrast, light-on-dark colors, a thin quiet zone or a logo that is too big, and decodes every design in your browser as you edit. Still, test the final code with your own phone before printing a large run.
What size should I print a QR code?
A common rule is that the code should be at least a tenth of the scanning distance wide: about 2 cm for a business card held in hand, 3–5 cm for menus and flyers, and much larger for posters seen from a distance. Shorter content makes a less dense code that can be printed smaller. Use SVG or PDF for print so edges stay sharp at any size.
Which format should I download?
SVG for print and design tools, since it is vector and scales to any size. PDF gives a print-ready page at a chosen width (300 dpi). PNG suits websites, documents and slides, including transparent backgrounds. JPEG and WebP are smaller files for the web.
Which barcode do I need?
Retail products sold in shops use EAN-13 (or UPC-A in North America), with numbers issued by GS1; small packs use EAN-8 or UPC-E, and outer cartons use ITF-14. For your own labels, such as inventory, shipping, tickets or asset tags, Code 128 is the most compact and accepts letters and numbers. Code 39 is common on ID badges and in older industrial systems.
Is anything uploaded?
No. Codes, logos and CSV lists are processed entirely in your browser. The design and content are kept in the page address after “#” so you can bookmark or share the link; browsers never send that part to a server, and the logo and Wi-Fi password are left out of it.
